Veteran FD and former Deloitte accountant takes non-exec role at AstraZeneca
Graham Chipchase is chief executive of packaging company Rexam, having previously served as its finance director
BIOPHARMACEUTICAL giant AstraZeneca intends to elect Graham Chipchase, a veteran finance director and former Deloitte accountant, as a non-executive as part of a boardroom shakeup.
The Anglo-Swedish drug making company announced that its chairman of eight years, Louis Schweitzer, intends to retire at the start of September, while appointing Leif Johansson, chairman of telecoms group Ericsson, as chairman-elect.
Johansson, Chipchase and Geneviève Berger, chief research and development officer at Unilever, will be proposed to shareholders at the company’s annual shareholder meeting on 26 April.
Chipchase is chief executive of packaging company Rexam, having previously served as its finance director. Prior to joining Rexam, Chipchase was finance director, aerospace at global engineering group GKN.
