Digital agency Redweb appoints CFO from WPP

James Watts has joined the company, leaving his position of senior manager in transaction services (M&A) at WPP to take up his first CFO role

Digital agency Redweb has appointed a new CFO.

James Watts has joined the company, taking up his first CFO role. He was previously senior manager in transaction services (M&A) at WPP.

Watts will adopt a strategic role at Redweb, leading on the agency’s growth plans alongside CEO Andrew Henning and COO Luke Platt.

Watts said: I’m delighted at the opportunity to join Redweb. I consider it to be one of the UK’s leading digital agencies, with impressive technical expertise in platforms such as Sitecore, combined with a full suite of other digital offerings. It’s an exciting time to be involved with the agency”.

Speaking on Watts’ appointment, Platt said: “We’re very excited to welcome James to the team. His strategic insight will be invaluable as we look to continue our growth and further strengthen our position within an ever-changing industry”.

Redweb has been operating for 20 years. Its clients include Cancer Research UK, the Department for Education, the Home Office, and Organix.

Other recent FD appointments include the hiring of Greene King CFO Kirk Davis by The Restaurant Group and a new CFO appointment at FTSE 250 primary care investor and developer Assura.
