No glass ceiling for new FD McLean at Superglass Holdings

McLean will take over from Chris Lea and join the board with effect from 1 June 2016

THERESA McLean has been appointed FD at Superglass Holdings, one of the UK’s leading independent manufacturers of glass wool and mineral fibre insulation solutions.

McLean, currently the financial controller of the company’s principal trading subsidiary, Superglass Insulation Limited, will take over from Chris Lea and join the board with effect from 1 June 2016.

Chris Lea is leaving to become CFO at Indigovision Group and will be transitioning into his new role over the coming weeks, but will remain as an executive board member until the end of June 2016.

McLean, 38, is a chartered accountant who trained with EY in Glasgow. She joined Superglass in early 2014 from Serco, where she had been financial controller of the group’s health business unit for two years. Prior to that, McLean spent eight years at Sun Microsystems, where she held various increasingly senior roles in the company’s finance department.

Ken Munro, CEO of Superglass, said: “Having run an extensive external and internal recruitment process over the last two months, and having met with a range of high quality candidates, it became clear that Theresa’s experience and close involvement in the turnaround of the business over the last year made her the ideal choice for this critical role.

“I look forward to working with her to consolidate the considerable progress we have made recently and I am sure that she will bring drive and focus to the next phase of the company’s development. On behalf of the board, I’d like to thank Chris for his contribution to the progress made by the company during his tenure.”
