Murphy appointed as CRH group FD

Currently Bank of Ireland COO, Murphy previously held positions at Ulster Bank and Airtricity

INTERNATIONAL building materials group CRH has installed Bank of Ireland COO Senan Murphy as its new group finance director with effect from 4 January 2016.

Murphy will succeed Maeve Carton who will become group transformation director. Both will be members of the group board.

The 46-year-old is a chartered accountant and boasts more than 25 years’ experience in international business across financial services, banking and renewable energy.

Currently, Bank of Ireland chief operating officer and a member of the group’s executive committee, he previously held positions as COO and FD at Ulster Bank, CFO at Airtricity and numerous senior financial roles in GE, in Ireland and the Americas.

Albert Manifold, group chief executive, said: “I am very pleased that Senan is joining CRH. This appointment strengthens and broadens the executive management team at an important time for the group as we continue to focus on business performance and value creation. His strong financial background, coupled with his extensive business experience, prepares him well for this critical leadership role within the group.”
