Former Dropbox VP of revenue moves to Carbon Black

In his latest move within fast-growing tech companies, Thomas Hansen has left his role as global vice president of revenue at Dropbox, to join Carbon Black.

In his new role as chief revenue officer and executive vice president, Hansen will be expected to accelerate the company’s growth and drive its go-to-market strategy.

Before joining Carbon Black, Hansen spent two years with Dropbox, where he was instrumental in leading the company through a period of huge growth, scaling over $1 billion in annualised revenue – the fastest SaaS company to reach that mark.

A Dropbox spokesperson said: “Thomas made a huge contribution to Dropbox over the past two years, by laying the foundation for an outbound and channel sales organisation to complement our self-serve software sales model.

“He built a sales team that has landed contracts with large customers such as HPE, Expedia and Adidas, and created partnership programs with large resellers and thousands of smaller companies who offer Dropbox as part of their own offerings.

“We are thankful for his contributions and wish him the best in his next chapter.”

Prior to joining Dropbox, Hansen was with Microsoft for 14 years, a time that included serving as worldwide vice president of the SMB organisation, and having responsibility for a global team of sales, marketing and partner management professionals,

Hansen has not followed the traditional route into finance, starting his career managing a small windsurfing company in Denmark.

He later went on to work for leading IT organizations, including Naspers, Dell and Olivetti,
