Army veteran takes MSI association CEO role

Timothy Wilson joins MSI Global Alliance as CEO

A MAJOR international accounting association has recruited an Army veteran as its new CEO.

Timothy Wilson has joined MSI Global Alliance as CEO, having previously served as director of membership at housing and homecare provider Abbeyfield Society. He previously had a 28-year career in the army, including operational tours in Bosnia, Cyprus and Northern Ireland, leading a task force of 1,000 soldiers in Iraq. He has also lived in Kuwait and Germany.

James Mendelssohn, MSI’s chairman, said Wilson’s previous experience and knowledge will make him an “excellent asset” to the network. “…We are looking forward to Tim having a long and successful career with us as our new CEO.”

Wilson, who will lead the team at MSI’s London-based Secretariat, said: “I am delighted to have been given the opportunity to become chief executive of MSI Global Alliance. It is an association with a great reputation and I am very much looking forward to working with MSI’s legal and accounting firms around the world and meeting the new challenges.”

MSI is the seventh biggest association or alliance, according to Accountancy Age’s 2014 Top 40 International Networks Survey, with nearly $1.5bn (£0.89bn) in fee income. Its British accountancy member firms include: haysmacintyre; Armstrong Watson; and ReSolve.
