Accountancy services provider makes foray into legal market
Internet-based ClearSky Accounting will now offer legal services to its clients after the market was opened up
ONLINE ACCOUNTING SERVICES provider ClearSky Accounting will offer legal services.
Opening up the legal services market beyond lawyer-owned firms has seen ClearSky launch legal advice, alongside accountancy services.
ClearSky, a subsidiary of professional services parent Optionis, will offer legal services to clients along with accountancy services, book-keeping, annual returns and tax advice.
The company, which is aimed at SMEs and contractors, will now provide human resource, accountancy and legal services to its clients.
Derek Kelly, managing director, told the FT: “We are a trusted partner and advisor … There is a huge amount of diversification in the small business world and the contracting world that lends itself to what we do.”
ClearSky made £1.8m profit on £5m turnover for the year ended March 2012, which was double the profit for the same period a year ago. It has also been shortlisted for Mid-tier Firm of the Year in the 2012 British Accountancy Awards.
