Adler Shine senior partner Jon Shine: 1950-2009

Adler Shine's senior partner Jon Shine has passed away aged 58

Adler Shine senior partner Jon Shine died suddenly on 21 July. He was 58
years old.

Shine was a founding partner of the firm, which grew from a three partner
practice to 11 partners, having stated that he wanted to build a sustainable
business in its own right, not dependent on individual partners.

He handed over the reins of the firm to managing partner Daniel Garcia as
part of this development process.

‘Jon will be sorely missed. Jon was a larger than life character, passionate
in his views and his enthusiasm was infectious. Jon was a proud man,’ said
Garcia. ‘Proud of his family, proud of his football team, Manchester United, and
was especially proud of Adler Shine – the firm he created and bore his name.’

One of Shine’s crowning achievements and proudest moments was when the firm
won Accountancy Age’s ‘Medium Firm of
the Year
‘ in 2005.

‘To receive such an accolade from a respected panel of his peers was genuine
testimony to Jon of the success he had made in pursuing the development of the
practice.’

‘He loved his colleagues and staff, his clients and all his business
associates. It was Jon who set the practice mission statement “to enjoy working
with clients who value and respect us and with whom we seek to have long-term
relationships”.’

He leaves his wife Michelle, sons Daniel and Matthew and a daughter Rebecca.

To pass on your commiserations or to contact the firm please email Daniel
