Be warned, the weekend is nigh
We get hundreds of letters, faxes and e-mails every day from software companies, consultants and Robin Guenier’s Taskforce 2000 reminding us of the perils of Y2K fever. But we particularly liked one eye-catching package from a company called Technology Two Thousand: it had a little red sticker attached to the front of the envelope, with a space for the envelope stuffer to write in the number of working days left until everything comes screeching to a halt.
The one fault with the idea is that it only counts Mondays to Fridays.
If Y2K-compliant system programmers aren’t working at weekends, there really will be millennium meltdown.
