Off Balance: Tax stats provoke Captain Obvious

OFF BALANCE has been blighted by so many vacuous, pointless and uninformative press releases in recent months that OB has decided to act. So, when the opportunity arises, OB will give its Captain Obvious Award (that pic above is Captain Obvious – good, eh?) to the most meaningless stat or quote.

And the first recipient of the Captain Obvious Award goes to our friends at the Taxpayers’ Alliance, for this beauty: Polling shows 80% do not believe there should be further tax hikes on wine and spirits.

Hmm … who are the other 20%? People who don’t like wine or spirits, OB can but deduce.
