20 Years of Financial Director - It was twenty years ago today ...

October 1984 saw the launch of Financial Decisions, a magazine that soon afterwards became Financial Director. Ever since then, the FD Interview has been the cornerstone of this publication, so it is appropriate that we mark our anniversary with a selection of extracts from the best of them. From BT in its pre-privatisation incarnation back in 1984 to the incentive based NHS in 2004, covering organisations as disparate as Andersen, Save the Children and Eurotunnel, the interviews we highlight on these pages say as much about the changing nature of British business over the past two decades as they do about the achievements of the finance directors who lead them.
