Archie Norman, chairman of Asda, MP for Tunbridge Wells and vice chairman of the Conservative party, found time to appear on Desert Island Discs.
His top records were an eclectic mix including Flower of Scotland, David Bowie’s Heroes and a recording of Richard Burton reading The Rhyme of the Ancient Mariner. So, two questions: (i) is he the first (former) FD to appear on Desert Island Discs? and (ii) what records should he have chosen – other than the Frank Sinatra hit, It Asda be You???
