    The £550m take-over bid of Monument Oil & Gas by Lasmo will lead to a loss of office for Liz Airey, finance director at Monument. The finance director for the new combined company will be Paul Murray, her opposite number at Lasmo and also her “partner in love”. This loss of office is somewhat cushioned by Airey gaining around £4m in shares, options and compensation. (See Extraordinary Items, page 64.)
