Appointment at J Sainsbury.
J Sainsbury has been landed in a Barclays-style succession fiasco after the announcement that FD Rosemary Thorne is not leaving after all (for the time being at least). In May we reported that Thorne was quitting and would receive a £500,000 pay-off. However, mirroring the protracted departure of Oliver Stocken from Barclays, Thorne will now remain in her job until a suitable replacement can be found. See Accounting column, page 75.
