On the move - Llewellyn steps down over Wickes link

Trefor Llewellyn, finance director of Caradon, has announced that he is stepping down from his position and moving off the company’s board.

He becomes the corporate development director responsible for acquisitions, disposals and IT. He keeps his salary of #248,000 despite moving to a more junior position.

Llewellyn was previously FD at builders merchants Wickes, which last year uncovered a #50m hole in its accounts. Although there is no evidence to suggest he had any knowledge of the false accounting that went on in Wickes’s buying department, institutional shareholders were said to be unhappy with the connection.

Martin Clark, FD at Associated British Foods, will step in to replace Llewellyn on 1 October. It is Clark’s second change of job in the last year, as it was only last spring that he was tempted away from Northern Foods to join ABF.
