On the move - Telia UK

Telia UK, a subsidiary of the Swedish national telecoms operator, has appointed Geoffrey Saunders as finance director. Saunders has spent the last year working in strategic and management consultancy in the telecoms industry. Saunders began his career as a financial analyst and controller in the restaurant and brewing sector before moving on to become the corporate finance manager of the regional electricity board, Seeboard, in 1990.

Leaving Seeboard in 1994 he became the managing director of computer manufacturer Escom, a period which saw the company grow from #30m to #300m in a single year. [HH] Appointment at Datrontech. [PP] 6 [PL] UK

Philip Brown has been appointed UK finance director of Datrontech, the memory and PC component distributor. Brown will be responsible for the financial operations of all the UK operations of Datrontech, including its specialist retail division, Peripherique. He joins from the pharmaceutical company Sanofi Winthrop, where he was director of accounting tax and treasury.

Prior to this he was with Arthur Andersen as a tax accountant for four years.
