On the move - Pearson
Peter Gill, finance director at Dorling Kindersley, the educational book publisher, is leaving for a reported six figure salary at Pearson plc. Gill who was headhunted by the group has obviously found the opportunity of joining a FTSE-100 company too tempting. He joins Pearson, which publishes the FT, as director of financial operations, with responsibility for financial reporting and control. He will be number two in the financial side of the company, reporting to FD John Makinson. The finance world is a field the Gill family take a great interest in as Peter’s brother, David, is finance director of perhaps the biggest field of all, Manchester United PLC.
