The profession's best interests at heart
Coopers & Lybrand boss Peter Smith seems to have taken leave of his senses.
Urging his competitors to back the Swinson plan for shaking up the profession’s regulation, he came up with the remarkable notion that the big firms stop pushing their own ideas and interests.
How did this man get to the top? Surely not by being so naive as to think that the big firms act in the interests of the profession when it conflicts with their own.
