    Recent Merrill Lynch/Gallup surveys have recorded increased buying of UK equities by fund managers. This is despite the fact that valuations looked stretched by traditional criteria. Interest is being supported by the prospect of stronger earnings (and dividend) growth as the UK’s economy revives in 1996 and 1997.
