EY and PwC make partner hires

Katherine Bullock joins EY to lead its UK and Ireland Private Client Services practice; PwC recruit partner from Rothschild's restructuring practice

EY has appointed partner Katherine Bullock to lead its UK and Ireland Private Client Services practice outside of London.

Joining EY from PWC where she headed the firm’s private client team Bullock has over 25 years’ experience some of the wealthiest individuals in the UK on their business, family and charitable interests.

She is a barrister, chartered tax adviser, certified financial planner and member of the Society of Trust & Estate Practitioners, with an MA in law from Cambridge University.

Bullock she will lead EY’s regional private client services practice, which offers tax planning and compliance advice to individuals and their businesses, as well as cross-border services that help meet the needs of clients with international interests.

Her arrival continues recent investment in the practice and follows the appointment of partner David Kilshaw, who joined the firm from KPMG last year.

Separately, Hamish Mackenzie has been appointed as a partner at PwC in its restructuring team.

Most recently a director of Rothschild’s restructuring practice, with a background in M&A and special situations, Mackenzie joins PwC’s corporate financial restructuring team, led by another recent partner appointment, Alistair Dick.

Heather Swanston, head of PwC’s refinancing and restructuring practice, said: “Corporates are increasingly looking for an adviser that can provide the full range of restructuring advisory and implementation services that they need. Hamish’s experience in restructuring advisory at home and abroad will be another huge asset to our expanding team.”
