The pandemic thrust finance leaders across the UK into the spotlight. With the economy reeling and businesses unsure about the way forward, executives turned to their CFOs for strategic guidance. COVID-19 heightened the leadership status of the finance team – but it also increased expectations that they could predict the financial future.
A recent survey by the FT Group, in partnership with Sage, revealed that the number one goal of CFOs is now driving digital transformation. In addition, finance leaders report that as a result of the pandemic, they now face increased demand from other departments for real-time data and delivery of commercial insights.
