Dover and other Channel ports face disruption for up to six months if the UK leaves the EU without a deal, ministers have said.

The ‘worst case scenario warning’ comes after analysis of likely traffic flows, if customs checks are delayed.

Lorries carrying medicine could get priority at ports and planes used to fly in drugs, ministers said.


Although two former Tesco executives, Chris Bush and John Scoule have been acquitted of charges of fraud and false accounting relating to the grocer revealing in autumn that profits had been overstated by about £250m,  a third member of the management team  awaits further developments.

Carl Rogberg, a former Tesco UK finance director, was not included in the retrial, with the SFO saying it was now considering whether to pursue a retrial of Mr Rogberg.
