With no way out of the Brexit impasse, at least at the moment, talks between Theresa May and Jeremy Corbyn have stalled.
Weekend rumours suggest the prime minister may be willing to include a “future proof” commitment to Britain staying in a customs union as a way of brokering a deal.
In the meantime the prime minister is understood to be seeking an extension till 30 June, to try and get a fresh Brexit deal agreed, while the EU is thought to be considering offering the UK up to a year.
This puts CFO Agenda- the live event of Financial Director on 7 May- at a critical moment of the Brexit time frame- especially as the keynote speaker is Bank of England deputy governor Sir Jon Cunliffe.
