The EU would be willing to remove all tariffs on cars in a trade deal with the US, the bloc’s top trade official said on Thursday, underlining the bloc’s readiness to expand the scope of trade talks agreed with Washington.
Cecilia Malmstrom, the EU trade commissioner, said Brussels would negotiate a zero tariff deal on cars if the US reciprocated, something she cautioned “remains to be seen”.
