US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo has told the UK it needs to change its attitude towards China and telecoms company Huawei, casting the world’s second largest economy as a threat to the West.

Huawei’s CFO Meng Wanzhou intends to seek a stay on extradition proceedings in part based on statements by American president Donald Trump about the case, which her lawyers say disqualifies the US from pursuing the matter in Canada.
