Prime Minister Theresa May will seek to persuade MPs to back her Brexit deal saying rejecting it will be risky and lead to “division and uncertainty”.

Her Commons speech comes after the 27 other EU leaders approved the terms of the UK’s exit at a summit yesterday.


The shadow chancellor, John McDonnell, has called for a government investigation into the use of high-cost bank loans after a report found local councils stand to waste up to £16bn on interest payments over the next 40 years.
