Today Theresa May will give a speech to the CBI annual conference in London in which she will move to seize back the initiative from mutinous Tory MPs by promoting her Brexit deal.

Sh will insist to business leaders that her deal delivers on the central demand of voters in the 2016 referendum, by allowing the UK to control immigration.

In the meantime, many observers are predicting 48 letters of no-confidence in Theresa May will have been sent- leading to a challenge to the Prime Minister’s leadership- as early as tomorrow.

At the same time, a group of five ministers in Theresa May’s top team are thought to be hoping to persuade her to make changes to her draft Brexit deal.
