Last night Theresa May clinched legally binding Brexit assurances with the European Union in a last ditch attempt to win over rebellious MPs who have threatened to vote down her divorce deal again.

But European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker warned if the deal was voted down there was “no third chance”.

Today the Prime Minister will bring her Brexit deal back to parliament for MPs to be given the chance to accept or reject it in the so-called meaningful vote two.

The Financial Reporting Council (FRC) is to be scrapped and replaced by a new regulator for accountancy firms, the UK government has announced.

The Audit, Reporting and Governance Authority will have enhanced powers and be able to make direct changes to accounts, instead of applying to court.
