Charlotte Frijns becomes CFO at GroupM UK

WPP’s Media investment company, Group, has recruited Charlotte Frijns as its new CFO starting in May. Previously, Frijns was the chief financial officer at Publicis Media. In her new role, she will be reporting to GroupM UK CEO Tom George. Her responsibilities include heading up the finance division, leading the strategy and day-to-day management of the operation.

At Publicis, Frijns had held the post of finance manager for ZenithOptimedia UK. During her time at Publicis she held a variety of roles across the business, including finance director for Digitas UK, CFO for ZenithOptimedia UK and commercial director for Zenith Worldwide. She has also worked with VNU Publishing and PwC.

New FD appointed by R&D tax relief specialists

Jumpstart, a research and development tax relief specialist has brought on board Andrew Taylor as its new finance director. Taylor will be responsible for all financial matters within the Edinburgh-headquartered business and will also support its UK-wide growth strategy.

Prior to Jumpstart, Taylor was the financial controller at Dalmore Capital. He has also spent 12 years with AIM-listed oil and gas company Petroceltic, where he was international group manager of strategic planning focusing on Middle East and North Africa operations. Taylor is a qualified chartered accountant who initially trained with Tenon.

Superdry appoints Ed Barker as chief financial officer designate

UK fashion retailer Superdry has appointed Ed Barker as its new chief financial officer designate. Baker, who is the non-executive director of Staffline Group, is expected to assume responsibilities of his role from 16 April. The retailer also said that current CFO Nick Wharton will remain as the director and CFO of the company 16 July.

Macy’s long-time CFO Karen Hoguet to retire next year

US-based department store operator Macy’s has announced that its CFO Karen Hoguet will retire in February 2019. Hoguet has held the post of the CFO since 1997 and will remain at the department store chain in an advisory role until a successor has been found.

CommScope names chief financial officer

CommScope, global provider of infrastructure solutions, has brought on board Alexander W. Pease as its new executive vice president and chief financial officer. Pease will succeed Mark Olson, who is retiring from the company.

Pease brings more than 18 years of extensive financial and operational experience across a wide range of industries, including serving as CFO at two publicly owned companies to the company.
