Taylor shows the spirit to join Inverarity Morton as FD

Scotland's largest independent wine and spirits merchant has boosted its management team, including a new finance director into its ranks

SCOTLAND’S LARGEST independent wine and spirits merchant has boosted its management team, including a new finance director into its ranks.

David Taylor (pictured) has joined Inverarity Morton as its FD. Chartered accountant Taylor has served as regional FD for BMI Healthcare for the past ten years, a role that encompassed 17 private hospitals with a combined turnover of £250m.

PwC-trained Taylor’s first FD role was at salmon breeding and production business Landcatch.

A new HR manager (Sarah Lamont) and trade marketing manager (Maresa Clancy) have also been recruited. Last autumn Inverarity Morton moved to a new 100,000 sq ft site at Thornliebank Industrial Estates, which formed part of a £3m investment in the business.

Managing director Stephen Russell said: “The company has undergone a lot of rapid change over the last few years and all the work that has been done since has been to surround ourselves with the right support systems, the right infrastructure.”

“David will be absolutely instrumental in delivering on our business strategy and Sarah to ensure that, as the company grows, everyone within it feels like they are contributing to the ongoing success of the business and feeling valued for that contribution.”
