Clive Parritt elected ICAEW president

Incoming ICAEW president Clive Parritt said chartered accountants are at the heart of "healthy" business

ICAEW ELECTIONS have appointed three new council members to the roles of president, deputy president and vice-president.

Incoming president Clive Parritt (pictured) said accountants “lie at the heart of any successful business”, saying companies can “stay healthy” by seeking advice from an ICAEW member in the first instance.

He was speaking at a council meeting this morning, at which Mark Spofforth was elected as deputy-president and Deloitte’s Martyn Jones was elected  vice-president.

The institute is rolling out a new business advice service later this year, and SMEs will be entitled to a free initial consultation under the scheme.
